King’s College Hospital is an acute care medical facility located on Denmark Hill within the South London borough of Southwark. King’s College Hospital, often referred to as King’s or KCH, is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Great Britain. The hospital provides services to more than 700,000 patients annually. Alongside its academic partner, King’s College, the hospital offers education and training for medical, nursing, and dental students who complete their clinical rotations at this facility.

King’s College Hospital has a unique profile of medical services and holds an international reputation in various specialties. The hospital’s Liver Unit offers some of the most comprehensive and efficient liver care in the world, specializing in pediatric liver cancers and operating Europe’s largest liver transplant program. The Department of Neurology and Neurosciences also provides high-level services that include a multidisciplinary approach to managing Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, progressive supranuclear palsy, and other related disorders. It is one of only five “Centers of Excellence” selected by the National Parkinson Foundation.

The UK’s first Motor Neurone Disease Care and Research Centre is located at this hospital. Additionally, King’s College Hospital houses the nation’s only dedicated diverticular disease clinic. Other notable specialties include hematology-oncology and fetal medicine.
