Description
Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, established in 1948, is located 15 km east of Tel Aviv in Tzrifin, Israel. The 900-bed medical center serves a diverse population of Jews, Muslims, and Christians, and provides specialized services to Israeli military and defense personel.
Originally housed in wooden barracks, Assaf Harofeh has always been committed to offering top-quality medical and surgical care. Named after Assaf Ben Brachiahu, a renowned 5th-century figure known as “the Jewish Hippocrates,” the medical center is affiliated with the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.
All medical wards at Assaf Harofeh are accredited for specialist medical training by the Academic Council of the Israeli Medical Association. The center offers a wide range of services, including a Level 1 trauma center, internal medicine services, a neonatal intensive care unit, breast cancer treatment services, cardiac diagnostic services, genetics, and rehabilitation.
Assaf Harofeh also features a well-equipped Department of Nuclear Medicine and hosts the Institute of Hyperbaric Medicine—the largest of its kind in Europe and the Middle East.
The medical center is easily accessible by car or public transportation. Visitors are encouraged to contact the hospital for up-to-date information regarding train and bus routes.
